Childhood Memories

On her daughter’s birthday, a woman recounts her journey into motherhood, the death of her partner and losing custody of their daughter at the hands of her homophobic grandparents.

Inspired by the 2023 rulings in Italy that currently allow a child to only be raised by heterosexual and biological parents, Childhood Memories is a tender monologue depicting a mother questioning her place in a world that doesn’t want to recognise her.
